For Families

Care that fits how children actually live

Children spend their days at home, at school, and with friends. We ask about all of those settings, because symptoms often show up differently in each one.

Because K. Johns Medical provides both medical and psychiatric care, families do not have to choose between addressing a physical concern and a behavioral one. Both can be discussed in the same practice, with one coordinated plan.

Pediatric Services

What we provide for children age 5 and older

Well-child and preventive visits

Routine visits that track growth, development, nutrition, sleep, activity, and emotional wellbeing, with time for parent questions.

School and general physical examinations

Examinations completed for school, camp, or general health documentation requirements.

Developmental and behavioral concerns

Evaluation of concerns raised at home or school, such as attention, learning difficulty, mood changes, or behavior that has changed over time.

Acute and sick visits

Timely evaluation of short-term illnesses and new symptoms, with clear guidance for families.

Chronic-condition follow-up

Ongoing monitoring for long-term conditions, coordinated with the child's school and other clinicians when authorized.

Medication review

Review of current prescriptions, over-the-counter products, and supplements for continued need, dosing, and interactions.

Pediatric mental-health evaluation

Age-appropriate psychiatric evaluation for children and adolescents, with family involvement and school coordination when authorized.

ADHD evaluation and treatment

A structured evaluation process that reviews symptoms across settings and considers medication and nonmedication options.

Anxiety and depression screening

Age-appropriate screening that helps identify symptoms needing further evaluation. A screening result is not a diagnosis.

Family education and care coordination

Practical education for parents and caregivers, plus coordination with schools, therapists, and other providers when authorized.

Services, eligibility, and visit format depend on the child's age, condition, location, and clinical needs. Some concerns require an in-person assessment.

Concerned about attention or focus?

Our ADHD evaluation reviews symptoms across home and school settings and uses standardized rating scales when appropriate. An online questionnaire alone does not establish an ADHD diagnosis.

Screenings for children and adolescents

Behavioral, emotional, and preventive screenings help identify concerns that may need further evaluation by a qualified healthcare professional.
